During the steam era and beyond, Bedford, IN was the limestone capital of the world. The complete facade of the Empire state building was quarried from Oolitic limestone. This cast resin open load simulates a Roman limestone column, an Ionic capital and matching base all housed in wooden blocking . The limestone pieces are cast in an ivory colored resin so that they don't need to be painted. The blocking pieces are cast in a light brown resin and can be painted and/or weathered with powders. This 16 piece kit is easy to assemble and is designed to serve as a single load for 50’ or greater length flat cars and gondolas. It can also be used with two 40’ or greater flat cars or gondolas by placing the capital and foot/base over the trucks of one car and the column assembly with blocking onto the center of another car.
